MRO Corp., a leading provider of disclosure management applications and services for healthcare organizations, today announced a contract with UC Health University Hospital (Cincinnati, Ohio) to provide ROI processing services to the facility. Under this agreement, University Hospital will incorporate MRO's ROI technology with its existing electronic medical record (EMR) system. The new workflow enables the organization to bring its ROI process in-house and partner with MRO to provide the back-office fulfillment functions.

“Making the choice to switch from a completely outsourced model to MRO's shared services ROI processing was a great decision for our organization as we looked to leverage our full EMR system to build a better ROI workflow process”

Previously, the 650-bed hospital relied on ROI service from a traditional outsourced vendor, but in an effort to streamline the process and strengthen controls around it, University Hospital transitioned to MRO's ROI Online™ software and shared services delivery model. Through this model and the hospital's full EMR system, University Hospital's HIM department will manage the front-end tasks including uploading relevant charts into the ROI Online system, while MRO handles the complex and time-consuming back-end services such as requester communications, quality assurance checks and fulfillment requirements.

"Making the choice to switch from a completely outsourced model to MRO's shared services ROI processing was a great decision for our organization as we looked to leverage our full EMR system to build a better ROI workflow process," noted Polly Elmlinger, director of health information management at University Hospital. "We're always looking to offer the best customer service possible, but in an era of stringent compliance regulations, having the quality assurance and higher levels of oversight from MRO is equally important."

"University Hospital is one of many hospitals that have seen the value a flexible processing model such as our shared services can provide to their staff," said Stephen Hynes, president of MRO. "We are proud to offer a unique combination of technology, services that creates a genuine partnership with our clients and are confident the enhanced level of oversight we provide is a superior value-added service in our industry."
