NewsGuard 100/100 Score

MedQuist Inc. (Nasdaq: MEDQ), a leading provider of medical transcription services, and a leader in technology-enabled clinical documentation workflow, continues to build partnerships with the nation's top healthcare organizations by developing and implementing solutions that form the backbone of clinical documentation workflow management.

MedQuist offers an industry-leading healthcare information management platform (DocQment Enterprise Platform® or DEP), which serves as the foundation for its transcription service offerings and includes workflow management, core measures reporting, structured documentation, data analytics, and key customer reporting. Other MedQuist solutions include SpeechQ® real-time interactive speech recognition for radiology and general medicine, DocQvoice® for capturing dictation, and computer-assisted coding and abstracting. This blend of solutions drives document quality and accuracy and advances the adoption of Electronic Health Records -- resulting in improved patient care and higher levels of efficiency.

In the latest example of its support for providers nationwide, MedQuist recently signed an agreement with Child Health Corporation of America (CHCA) for clinical documentation and computer-assisted coding technology and outsourced medical transcription and coding services.  MedQuist will implement DEP in-house at CHCA Owner Hospitals as a Web-based solution for clinical documentation workflow.

According to Melinda McDonald, vice president at CHCA, "We contracted with MedQuist after they demonstrated operational cost savings and more complete documentation for billing and compliance at a number of our hospitals." MedQuist currently provides services for 14 CHCA children's hospitals, where its technologies are transforming traditional transcription to increase productivity, drive out costs, promote physician satisfaction, and support high quality patient care.

MedQuist CEO Peter Masanotti comments, "As the supplier of transcription services and clinical documentation technologies to 42 percent of the nation's children's hospitals, we are pleased that CHCA has selected MedQuist to help improve clinical documentation workflow among its hospitals based on our experience and commitment to serving this market.  We look forward to working with them as business partners, and providing significant value as each facility moves toward adoption of Electronic Health Records and substantiating Meaningful Use under the HITECH Act."
