Prematics, the leader in e-prescribing and care communication services, today announced a multi-year contract extension with Availity LLC, a national leader in health information exchange. Availity offers Prematics' e-prescribing services under the CarePrescribe™ private label. Per the terms of the agreement, Prematics will continue providing e-prescribing services to Availity through 2013, and add its Care Communication™ services for existing and future CarePrescribe users.
“The relationship between clinical information exchange and physician office workflow is a critical and often overlooked link. CarePrescribe is a strong example of Availity's commitment to empowering meaningful use of clinical information through our network of physicians and business partners.”
Today, over 2,000 providers in Florida and Texas use CarePrescribe. With this agreement, Availity expands its deployment to providers in Kentucky. The contract extension also provides the opportunity to expand the service to additional geographies.
"We are delighted to continue offering e-prescribing services with Prematics," said Russ Thomas, president and chief operating officer for Availity. "The relationship between clinical information exchange and physician office workflow is a critical and often overlooked link. CarePrescribe is a strong example of Availity's commitment to empowering meaningful use of clinical information through our network of physicians and business partners."
Since the e-prescribing partnership with Availity began in February 2008, Prematics has leveraged its e-prescribing platform to build a Care Communication messaging service for physician practices seeking better-informed care, and a path forward to better care coordination. In addition to basic e-prescribing functionality, Prematics Care Communication service intelligently prioritizes and delivers messages to physicians and patients where they are most actionable and impactful — in the exam room and pre- and post-visitation.
"Availity continues to be a great partner and distributor of our e-prescribing and now Care Communication services. With this partnership CarePrescribe is one of the leading e-prescribing solutions in Florida. We look forward to working with Availity as they expand their clinical strategy in additional markets with health plan owners and partners, improving care management and communication," said Kevin Hutchinson, CEO, Prematics.
