UBM Medica presented the Psychiatric Times Virtual Career Expo on October 6, 2010.  The virtual career expo offers job opportunities and career development for psychiatrists and mental health professionals.  UBM Studios, a leader in virtual events and virtual business solutions, provided the 3D platform for the event.  The event is now available on demand.

The event allows recruiters and hiring organizations to gain exposure to psychiatrists and mental health professionals actively searching positions.  Interactive booths allow companies to post available positions, while candidates have the opportunity to attach resumes and upload written and/or videotaped profiles as well as facilitate real-time chats with recruiters.   Event participants were also able to network with colleagues and industry experts.

Psychiatric Times offered the following sessions in the Auditorium:

  • Balancing Your Professional and Personal Life – Joe Weiner, MD, PhD
  • How to Avoid a Malpractice Suit – James Knoll, MD
  • Coding and Documentation for Psychiatric Care – Ronald Burd, MD
  • Psychiatrics in Demand:  Where the Jobs Are – Tommy Bohannon, Vice President of Hospital Based Recruiting, Merritt Hawkins

The event offered a live Q&A session with the speakers after each presentation.

Additionally, attendees were able to "Ask the Expert About Developing Your Career" in the Exhibit Hall.  Joel Yager, MD answered questions.

The virtual career expo drew 1,167 registrants and live 392 attendees.  Nearly half of the attendees were psychiatrics and spent an average of two hours at the event.  Additionally there were 372 presentation views and 1,273 booth visits.
