Sandata Technologies, LLC, a leading national provider of information technology solutions to the home healthcare industry, today announced that on November 16, 2010, the US Patent and Trademark Office will issue US Patent Number 7835955, "Time and/or Attendance System Using Synchronized Code," an innovative new caregiver location monitoring solution aimed at reducing home healthcare fraud and abuse.  The Fixed Location Tracker or FLT allows home healthcare administrators to verify that the caregiver is in the right place at the right time without the need for traditional land phone lines.

Sandata's Fixed Location Tracker utilizes proprietary technology that continuously generates a pre-programmed, multi-digit, unique number that corresponds to a specific date and time.  This small device with a digital display screen is affixed within the patient's home.  When the caregiver arrives and just prior to their departure from the patient's home, the caregiver presses the button on the FLT and a multi-digit code displays.  The caregiver saves the code, and then makes a phone call into the Santrax system to enter the data. The FLT system gives the caregiver the flexibility to enter the data in real time, or at a later time, into a cell phone or land line. This flexibility makes the device perfect for remote locations where no land line or cell service exists. The result is a specific date, time and location associated with a caregiver visit being entered into the Santrax system – representing another layer to Sandata's suite of solutions that help ensure patients receive the right care, at the right time and in the right location.

Sandata customers expressed strong interest in Sandata's latest FLT solution to better manage their mobile workforces, especially in locations where traditional land lines may not be available.  Girling Health Care, one of the largest home healthcare providers in the US, has already agreed to add the FLT solution to the suite of Santrax Telephony products it has been using. Wayne Douglas, President of Girling Health Care's Community Care Division remarked, "Girling is excited about using Santrax Telephony's newest feature - Fixed Location Tracking, which will allow us to automate time and attendance in locations where land lines and cell service don't exist.  Girling originally chose Sandata as its partner in 2009, because Sandata is the market leader in telephony-based time and attendance, processing over 100 million calls annually. Santrax Telephony also offered Girling the most robust set of features to help ensure user adoption and maximize our return on investment.  We recently finalized the implementation of Santrax in all 16 of our Texas facilities.  Sandata's implementation team successfully delivered the project on time and was extremely responsive to our needs."

According to Jeff Silverman, Sandata's Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, "Sandata's new Fixed Location Tracking device is another example of Sandata's continuous innovations aimed at combating home healthcare fraud and abuse, and increasing overall compliance for our Home Care Agency customers. The FLT offers multiple benefits to our customers. As a stand alone option, FLT represents an extremely cost-effective and accurate option to validate visit information where no land line or cell service exists.  It can also be used in conjunction with our Santrax Telephony land line services and our Santrax Speaker Verification as another layer of fraud prevention. Sandata will continue to develop innovative solutions such as FLT to meet the ever evolving needs of our customers."
