Omron Healthcare today announced support for the American Heart Association's broad-based healthcare awareness campaign that will educate providers on hypertension treatment recommendations, including home blood pressure monitoring and best practices for integrating this into their standard of care.  The campaign will reinforce the latest guidelines about hypertension treatment and home blood pressure monitoring as directed and approved by the American Heart Association.

The goal of the campaign is to reach 50,000 healthcare providers by 2013 with the necessary online tools and resources to empower patients, enhance patient/provider communication and improve patient outcomes. The American Heart Association Toolkit is made possible with funding from Omron Healthcare.

"Omron Healthcare is proud to support the American Heart Association and its educational initiatives," said Robert Kondraske, Omron Healthcare Chief Operating Officer. "Hypertension affects one out of three Americans and is known to be a silent killer. By providing valuable clinical and educational resources to primary healthcare providers, we are taking positive steps to improve patient quality and longevity of life."
