Diamyd Medical issues new shares to cover social security contributions for employee stock option plans

In connection with the exercise of employee stock options in the plans 2007/2010 and 2008/2011, Diamyd Medical is issuing 155,352 new shares of series B to cover social security contributions for the plans. The shares are issued with support of underlying warrants that covers the company's obligations within the scope of the programs. See Diamyd Medical's annual report for further information on the stock option plans, which were approved by the annual shareholders' meetings in 2007 and 2008. The shares have been placed with an institutional investor at competitive conditions.
