NewsGuard 100/100 Score

MDI announced today that it has added McKesson's CareEnhance® Disease Monitor software to the Viewpoint Analytics solutions portfolio. Integrating one of the industry's leading disease management products increases the breadth of solutions available from Viewpoint Analytics.

“McKesson's Disease Monitor is a perfect fit with our data warehouse and analytics solution”

Disease Monitor uses patient medical data and pharmacy claims data to assist with early identification of at-risk populations, monitoring those diagnosed with chronic disease, and ensuring the appropriate use of medications and compliance with nationally recognized care guidelines. Benefits managers and wellness professionals can use this information to monitor patient progress based upon industry accepted disease management protocols. Disease Monitor supports the most common chronic diseases and conditions and can be easily customized to include other diseases as needed.

With the goal of controlling costs, managing risk and improving quality outcomes, Viewpoint Analytics and the Disease Monitor application tool will help MDI clients address gaps in care for its member populations.

"McKesson's Disease Monitor is a perfect fit with our data warehouse and analytics solution," says Ted Willich, President of MDI. "We've worked hard to create a tool that makes healthcare data more useful for a wide range of decision support needs. Our analytics tool helps customers focus on cost and usage of healthcare, and with the addition of at-risk patient monitoring, they can effect change in population health sooner."

"Monitoring at-risk populations and those already diagnosed with chronic diseases provides a more meaningful understanding of their condition and progress. That understanding leads to better care, which can reduce the long-term effects and costs of chronic diseases. Everybody wins."
