Touro University Worldwide introduces new online program in Marriage and Family Therapy

Program includes Marriage and Family Therapy, Pastoral Counseling

Dr. Bernard Luskin, CEO and Senior Provost of Touro University Worldwide recently announced its new online program in Marriage and Family Therapy with concentrations in pastoral counseling, coaching, mediation and dispute resolution.

"We are very enthusiastic about this special program," said Dr. Michael Hamlin, Chair of TUW's Department of Professional Psychology.  The program includes pathways to practice and several areas of psychotherapy.  

"Students interested in Marriage Family Therapy, Licensed Professional Counseling and Mental Health Counseling can now take TUW's program online and be prepared to practice in areas of their specialization by completing the online course work and face-to-face  internship requirements," said Hamlin.

Dr. Hamlin has been very active in teaching and research, having written and published numerous professional research studies and papers. He has received more than $1,000,000 in sponsored research support.

"Dr. Hamlin has extensive experience in educational administration and psychology," said Dr. Luskin.  "Before joining TUW, he was the Chair of Psychology at Touro College Los Angeles."

He has worked and taught in the areas of academic affairs, educational technology and human factors at numerous universities including the University of Washington, Pepperdine University and Loyola Marymount University.

The TUW Professional Psychology program begins in January 2011 and includes the entire required curriculum, including concentrations in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT), Licensed Professional Counseling (LPC) and Mental Health Counseling.  These new programs include the new requirements specified by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC).
