Dade Medical College will officially introduce its new School of Continuing Education on January 22. This new division will begin offering non-credit courses for students and working professionals. These courses will include state board exam reviews, continuing education unit credits and certificate programs. Class hours will be flexible, including both weekday and weekend (Saturday) course offerings.

Leading the school will be Jorge A. Alvarez, as Dean of the School of Continuing Education. Alvarez currently serves as the Campus Director for Dade Medical College's Miami Campus. Alvarez earned dual master degrees in business and healthcare administration from the University of Miami.  He is currently completing a doctoral program in business management and finance at Nova Southeastern University.

"We are very excited to be embarking on this new chapter of Dade Medical College's curriculum," said Ernesto Perez, CEO Dade Medical College. "These new courses will serve as great opportunities for medical professionals in our community to continue and further their careers."

"I am honored to lead Dade Medical College's new School of Continuing Education," said Jorge A. Alvarez. "I look forward to working with Ernesto and the rest of the Dade Medical staff to help the program succeed. In the coming months, we will seek to expand the curriculum even further, to make sure that we give access to as many medical professionals as possible."

The first two continuing education certificate courses available will be EKG and Phlebotomy at the Miami Campus. In the near future, the School of Continuing Education will begin offering Continuing Education Unit courses (CEUs) for Massage Therapy and several review courses for state board exams including the ARDMS, ARRT, MBLEX, NCBTMB and NCLEX.
