Keane, Inc., an NTT DATA Company and a U.S.-based IT services and healthcare information technology firm, today announced Chadron Community Hospital has selected the full suite of Keane Optimum applications. The critical access hospital intends to leverage the solution's ability to custom-fit software to qualify for American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) stimulus incentive payments and attain the highest level of clinical automation over time, resulting in superior patient care.

“Keane Optimum helps improve systems hospital-wide, including quality of care, clinical decision-making and financial performance”

Keane Optimum is among the first to receive ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 certification as a 'Complete Acute Care EHR' (electronic health record) by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT®). Offering secure access from multiple locations, patient information and financials can be communicated immediately throughout the healthcare system. Keane Optimum also increases collaboration among disciplines and is compatible with other vendors' applications, achieving a level of interoperability that improves clinical decision-making, patient outcomes and satisfaction while advancing financial performance.

"We at Chadron feel confident that as the strong partnership conceived during the selection process grows, we'll have a much easier experience in implementing EHR, an endeavor that takes a lot of work from both sides," said Anna Turman, chief information officer at Chadron. "In order to be successful, both partners need to be passionate about the same goals. It's clear that in addition to its people, Keane's products can effectively meet our goals to reduce redundancy, improve efficiency, and, most importantly, reduce medical errors."

Specific Keane Optimum applications that will be implemented at Chadron include Optimum Clinicals, which feature CPOE and Pharmacy, Laboratory; Document Management; Health Information Management; Revenue Cycle Management (RCM); Enterprise Decision Support tools; General Ledger/Financials; Enterprise Scheduling and Human Resources applications.

"Keane Optimum helps improve systems hospital-wide, including quality of care, clinical decision-making and financial performance," said Walt Kaczor, senior vice president of Keane's Healthcare Solutions Division. "Implementation of EHRs can often be a huge undertaking for smaller facilities like Chadron, which don't always have the financial or personnel means readily available to execute EHRs. This latest undertaking is just one example of Keane's commitment to the implementation of EHR systems throughout all hospital systems, big and small."
