Medica Health Plans grants $6.5 million to Research Institute

The Medica Research Institute has received a contribution from Medica Health Plans in the amount of $6.5 million. This contribution will be used by the Research Institute to further its mission. Specifically, a portion of these monies will be used to support pilot research activity that is necessary to obtain preliminary study outcomes for future grant proposals.

"The Medica Research Institute was established to harness our knowledge and expertise to study and answer the difficult questions that persist about health care in order to improve the quality of care," said Dr. Charles Fazio, executive director of the Medica Research Institute and chief medical officer of Medica. "This funding demonstrates Medica's sustained commitment to the Medica Research Institute and will help establish it as a respected and leading contributor to the field of health services research."
