Merge Healthcare's iConnect image interoperability platform to be showcased at HIMSS meeting

NewsGuard 100/100 Score

Merge Healthcare Incorporated (NASDAQ: MRGE), a global corporation dedicated to health IT interoperability solutions, will have a multi-faceted presence at the upcoming Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) meeting in Orlando February 20-24, 2011. The Merge iConnect™ platform will be showcased in the exhibit hall via the Merge booth and theater, as well as the IHE Interoperability Showcase.

Merge iConnect™ is an integrated software suite that facilitates the sharing of diagnostic content and results across the continuum of care. While there are many niche imaging solutions in the market, Merge iConnect is a comprehensive solution suite that delivers true, interoperable image exchange and management by providing the capabilities to share both DICOM and Non-DICOM data within a single infrastructure. In order to better educate customers about the iConnect platform, Merge has built a theater into the exhibit booth and will have scheduled demonstrations at the show.

Merge iConnect components recently passed conformance testing at the IHE North American Connectathon, held in Chicago during January. iConnect Access™ participated as an IHE compliant XDS Image Viewer, while Merge's eMPI was rigorously tested as an IHE PIX Manager and IHE PDQ Supplier. Both products successfully completed all testing, including security requirements as defined by the IHE ATNA profile, and interoperability with over 30 other vendor products and solutions during the Connectathon. This success qualifies Merge to be part of the 2011 HIMSS IHE Interoperability Showcase, demonstrating products in numerous "real-life" situations within the showcase.

"Image interoperability is critical to delivering true coordinated care", said Jeff Surges, Merge CEO. "We're certainly proud of thoroughly passing all IHE conformance testing for our iConnect platform. The iConnect solution makes completing the health record a reality for patients and providers"

In addition to the iConnect solution suite, Merge will demonstrate its clinical product lines, including solutions for radiology, CAD, cardiology, perioperative, laboratory and clinical trials. Merge will also showcase solutions for vendors, including its gold standard DICOM and HL7 Toolkits, as well as new capabilities in instrument connectivity.
