VitalHealth announces latest version of EHR solution for small practices

VitalHealth Software, a leading provider of web-based software solutions for health management, today announced the beta testing availability of VitalHealth EHR for Practices version 1.8, the latest version of its electronic health record (EHR) solution for small practices. This version offers a range of new features and functionality upgrades designed to meet Meaningful Use requirements. The company also announced that it is broadening its beta program for the product, inviting small practices across the nation to use the latest version of the EHR and provide feedback for on-going enhancements to the product.

VitalHealth EHR for Practices is designed to be extremely easy to use in the highly-varied work styles of small practices. It will meet and exceed meaningful use requirements, with technology that delivers the clinical and operational benefits of a world-class EHR. Based on extensive research and designed with intellectual property licensed from Mayo Clinic, this next-generation EHR is also one of the first designed specifically for use with an Apple iPad as well as other tablet formats, laptops and desktops. The system is HIPAA compliant and will be certified for Meaningful Use in the next few months.

VitalHealth's beta program is open to small medical practices, specifically those with fewer than 10 practitioners, and is suitable for both primary care and specialty practices. As part of this trial program, participating physicians will enjoy free use of VitalHealth EHR for Practices version 1.8 and a discounted offer at the end of the beta program. Throughout the trial period, the physicians' only requirement is to provide VitalHealth with ongoing feedback on the EHR technology.

This latest version offers multiple enhancements, including a number of new user interface, reporting and billing features, including:

• Disease and population management
• Integrated patient checkout and billing features
• Fully functional electronic lab ordering and resulting
• Dictation workflow support
• Enabling Connected Medical Home and Accountable Care Organization
• Delivered on a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model via secure wireless connection (either through Wi-Fi or 3G)

VitalHealth recently entered into a marketing collaboration with Mayo Medical Laboratories (MML) in which MML will offer the VitalHealth EHR as part of its outreach solution. According to Laurens van der Tang, the collaboration with MML illustrates the value that this EHR technology platform delivers to the medical community, "With this marketing collaboration we are joining efforts with an organization that brings over 40 years of in-depth laboratory knowledge gained through its extensive experience and long standing relationships with community hospitals engaged in outreach services throughout the U.S," said van der Tang.
