ChildCare Education Institute (CCEI), a nationally accredited, IACET CEU granting, distance training institution dedicated exclusively to the child care industry, offers new users the opportunity to try online learning by taking the course CCEI112A: Child Abuse: Signs of Abuse and Reporting Requirements for Early Childhood Professionals at no cost for the month of April, in honor of National Child Abuse Prevention Month.

As mandated reporters, child care providers are legally responsible for identifying and reporting signs of child abuse and neglect. Caregivers should be trained on the importance of visual checks and how to properly report their findings. This online course defines the four major categories of abuse, along with the signs, symptoms, and examples of each type of abuse.

"Online learning is a great way for a busy educator to fulfill his or her professional development requirements. We are happy to be able to provide this trial course to new users so they can see if online learning meets their needs," said Maria C. Taylor, President and CEO of CCEI.

CCEI112A is available only to new CCEI users, at no cost for the month of April. To take this trial course, click on the Take a Trial Course and Earn CEU Credit! icon located along the left side of the homepage at www.cceionline.edu. Users with an existing CCEI F.A.M.E. account who do not have an active, annual individual or center-based subscription may purchase this course as a block hour by selecting Professional Development for Individuals here.
