Keele University's six-day event to explore current trends in gerontology research

Keele University is to host a summer school focusing on the study of ageing and later life.

The six-day event, New Challenges for Ageing Populations: Insights from Research and Practice, will explore current trends in gerontology research, looking at themes including: ageing in urban environments; the arts and ageing; and experiences of growing old.

Invited speakers, guests, visits and social events are planned, providing participants with a stimulating week of study, discussion, debate and networking, from Sunday July 10 to Friday July 15.

The event is aimed at people who have completed a Masters in Gerontology or equivalent, or who are doctoral students or considering beginning doctoral studies, or who are practitioners or policy makers in the field of ageing.

The programme will be led by members of Keele's Centre for Social Gerontology, who have been at the forefront of research, teaching and policy development in the field of ageing for more than 20 years.
