Grant Memorial Hospital has selected Healthcare Management Systems Inc. (HMS) to provide a full suite of integrated clinical and financial applications for the 45-bed hospital in Petersburg, W.V. Having evaluated a number of systems, Grant was impressed with HMS' ability to address its patient-care needs as a small community hospital.
"The HMS team was committed from our first meeting to ensuring that we would be obtaining an integrated system that would be compliant with the new standards set by the government," said Mary Beth Barr, chief executive officer of Grant Memorial Hospital. HMS products are implemented in nearly 700 community hospitals and specialty-care facilities across the United States and Puerto Rico. The entire spectrum of HMS' electronic health record (EHR) products for inpatient services, emergency departments and physician practices has been tested and certified to meet the meaningful use criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
