IOD Incorporated™, a leading provider of integrated HIM solutions to hospitals, health systems, and physician practices, today announced expanded capabilities to address health information management's top three challenges of this decade: transitioning to ICD-10, implementing electronic records and recruiting highly qualified HIM staff. Through a series of strategic acquisitions, the company is now in lockstep with these customer requirements—and HIM departments nationwide.

IOD is the 2nd largest release of information (ROI) company and supports a customer base that includes over 1,800 of the country's most recognized hospitals and clinics. The company is deepening their client partnerships through expanded technology and service offerings.

"We conducted an in-depth survey in late 2010 and customers clearly told us what they wanted: a full-service HIM partner with content expertise and a proven reputation in a broader range of medical record processes and functions," states Michael Wickman, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of IOD. The company quickly responded by acquiring proven HIM service providers ADS and MECA.

Through these acquisitions, IOD now offers a standardized workflow approach to a broad base of HIM services that include:

  • Document capture and imaging software and services
  • Coding, audit and clinical abstraction services
  • HIM consulting services
  • ICD-10 training and education
  • Release of information technology and services

As a result of these efforts, as well as IOD's steadfast attention to customer service and proven efficiency, Allina Hospitals & Clinics, a 10-year customer of IOD, recently extended its partnership with the company through 2015. Other customers have also responded favorably.

"IOD has been a trusted partner in HIM for over 30 years.  The result of our recent expansions is great news for IOD customers and healthcare organizations everywhere as we can now deliver a full suite of HIM service and technology capabilities," Wickman concludes.
