WHAT: Accountable Care Organizations: Accountable? Affordable? Achievable?—A panel discussion presented by the Southern California HBA featuring a distinguished group of local healthcare industry leaders.
WHY: What exactly are ACOs? Will ACOs succeed in their mission? Will they drive the anticipated improvements in care? What will be their major challenges? How easily will cost efficiencies be generated?
Mandated by the 2010 Patient Protection and Affordability Act, ACOs are groups of healthcare providers who work together with the aim of providing better care for individuals, better health for populations, and slower growth in costs. A panel of local healthcare leaders representing various sectors of the industry including policy, providers, payers, physicians and physician practices, will provide an opportunity to broaden understanding of this important new topic in healthcare and its impact on the local healthcare community.
