ChildCare Education Institute (CCEI), a nationally accredited and IACET approved distance training institution dedicated exclusively to the child care industry, is proud to announce the addition of a new course, Healthy Habits: Nutrition and Fitness Practices.

CCEI's new course is focused on developing lifelong nutrition and fitness habits in the child care environment. The Healthy Habits course teaches caregivers why and how to develop a nutrition policy, strategies for working with families to promote proper nutrition practices at home, and curriculum enrichment ideas for increasing healthy lifestyle choices and reducing childhood obesity. USDA nutrition recommendations, healthful snacking, and portion sizes are also discussed.

Students may register for this course through their CCEI account. Existing CCEI account holders who do not have an active, annual individual or center-based subscription may purchase this one-hour 0.1 IACET CEU course for $15 through online enrollment.

"With childhood obesity continuing to rise, it's more important than ever to promote strategies for combating this growing public concern," said Maria C. Taylor, President and CEO of CCEI. "CCEI joins this effort with the introduction of this new course designed specifically for the early care workforce."
