Ontario's CCACS reaches tentative agreement with ONA

A tentative agreement has been reached between Ontario's Community Care Access Centres (CCACS) and the Ontario Nurses Association (ONA), pending ratification.

ONA has units in 10 CCACs and represents approximately 3,000 CCAC employees. ONA-represented CCAC employees will be voting on the agreement tonight (September 30, 2011).

Ontario's CCACS are dedicated to providing quality and safe care to their 600,000 clients who depend on them for clinical and support care.

"The CCACs and their employees are committed to delivering the best possible care to our clients and their families," said Sandra Coleman CEO, South West CCAC. We are pleased that the hard work of both bargaining teams has resulted in a tentative deal that is fair to our employees and enables us to continue to provide health care and community-based services that meet the needs of Ontarians," Coleman added.

Ontario's CCACs help people navigate a complex health care system; connect people to health care services in their own community; help clients maintain their independence in their own homes; arrange in-home health care services; and, support people and their families through the application and admission process for a long-term care home, if and when living at home is no longer possible.
