After a comprehensive Request for Proposal (RFP) process, the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB) selected Liaison International's eAccreditation System to manage the accreditation of more than 3,000 health departments. The new system was launched on September 19 following a launch event at the National Press Club. eAccreditation™ is a state-of-the-art, web-based accreditation management system that organizes documents and manages the entire accreditation process—from initial application, through self-study documentation, site visit, accreditation decision and any required follow-up from a given health department—using a comprehensive, systematic approach. eAccreditation is available to specialized and professional accrediting agencies in the US, Canada and Europe, as well as other markets where the assessment of an academic (or other professional) program is conducted by an independent group of peers to ensure that the program being reviewed has met established standards.
PHAB Chief Administrative Officer Mark Paepcke was most enthusiastic about PHAB's mission and their software partner: "In order to improve the health of the public, the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB) is launching a national voluntary accreditation program for Tribal, state, local and territorial public health departments. We are excited to be using eAccreditation™ and to be working with Liaison International to deliver a comprehensive service."
