The nonprofit Center for Health Value Innovation (CHVI) announced today that Healthper, Inc., a social game-based health engagement and achievement platform, has joined as a member. CHVI serves as the meeting point for true innovation in health outcomes, driving system health through value-based designs that link the purchasers of care with the providers of care. The organization works closely with stakeholders to implement programs that accelerate health engagement and accountability, leading to improved health. Healthper recently introduced mobile applications for the Apple and Android platforms to improve consumer engagement in healthcare, in addition to introducing an expanded enterprise solution for health plans and self-insured employers. The two organizations will sponsor a free webinar on April 4th at 11:00 A.M. ET, The Impact of Mobile Health Platforms on Wellness, hosted by Ed Moran, co-author of The Hyper-Social Organization, and Cyndy Nayer, Co-Founder and CEO of CHVI.

"To improve the health status of our nation, we must focus on health as the outcome, so that health care becomes an important tool, but not the endpoint," said Ms. Nayer. "We are identifying solutions that promote the consumer and system engagement for accountable care. Engaging people in managing their health through reward and social networks is an exciting new tool for plans and employers to drive wellness and reduce costs. We are very excited to have Healthper as new member of our team at The Center, delivering solutions and sharing results. Their apps fit quite well within our innovation toolbox."

"The driving philosophy behind Healthper is that rewarding engagement in healthy behaviors will drive improved outcomes for members, health plans and their employer clients," said John Hammitt, President of Healthper. "Healthper is an extensive and flexible wellness platform designed to create real value for everyone across the healthcare ecosystem. By joining The Center, we are adding our voice to a crucial dialog about the future of health benefits."
