New webinar series for healthcare suppliers

GS1 Australia and the National E-Health Transition Authority (NEHTA) are pleased to announce ‘Realise the Efficiency of the NPC’, a new free webinar for healthcare suppliers who want a better understanding of how to use the National Product Catalogue (NPC).

The free webinar, to be held daily from Monday 16 to Friday 20 April 2012, will demonstrate to participants how to utilise the NPC to bring new business efficiencies to their organisation and provide essential information on how to get involved.

The NPC is increasingly recognised and utilised as the primary source of reliable product data for all healthcare related purchasing in Australia, with the number of users growing by more than 30 percent in the past nine months. Endorsed by all state, territory and federal health departments, it is a single repository for product data about medicines, medical equipment and consumables, and is hosted by GS1 Australia on GS1net, the Global Data Synchronisation Network (GDSN) pool.

The NPC is designed not only to reduce the costs associated with incorrect data but also significantly cuts the time and resources taken for suppliers to manage and communicate their product data to trading partners.

During the free webinar session, experts from GS1 Australia and NEHTA will outline the business drivers for NPC population and current requirements for all healthcare organisations to get involved. Attendees will also be able to learn about the documented business benefits for participating organisations.

Each live webinar runs for 30 minutes. As a special offer, all participants of the webinar will receive a short informational video on the benefits of the NPC, a useful tool to share information with key parts of their business.

Following the webinars, GS1 Australia and NEHTA will host a series of NPC information seminars in May 2012. Additional details will be announced later this month.

Registration for ‘Realise the Efficiency of the NPC’ is open now. To register, visit www.gs1au.org.
