DOTmed.com, Inc., the Internet's largest marketplace for new and used
medical equipment and parts, has introduced DOTmed New Equipment Guides
in print and online. The guides provide at-a-glance profiles of current
specific modalities from all major medical equipment manufacturers. They
debuted in the May edition of DOTmed Business News and online in
DOTmed's popular, interactive and newly enhanced Virtual Trade Show.
DOTmed New Equipment Guides increase the company's appeal to the
important provider audience as they can now easily access a wealth of
medical device information. Users can also shop for their equipment at
DOTmed where major OEMs such as GE Healthcare, Carestream Health and
STERIS Corporation have WebStores, with Siemens Healthcare and Philips
Healthcare Webstores opening soon.
"DOTmed New Equipment Guides will help those involved in the buying
process to narrow down their decision more quickly and determine the
right equipment fit for their facility," said DOTmed President, Phil
Jacobus. "DOTmed's role as an information source has grown considerably
over the past few years. Providing OEM information to our users seemed
like a natural progression. It fits with our mission of remaining the
leading medical equipment marketplace on the Web."
Each guide introduced is tied to the respective Industry Sector Report
published monthly in DOTmed Business News. The first three DOTmed New
Equipment Guides — Bone Densitometers, Breast imaging and Ultrasound —
appear in the May "Women's Health" issue. June will introduce guides for
PET, PET/CT, Stress Tests and SPECT, with three to four new guides on
average planned every month.
DOTmed Equipment Guides are significantly augmented online at DOTmed's
Virtual Trade Show where more comprehensive lists of makes and models
are available. They provide a high level of interactivity where users
enter a data-rich world in which thousands of models are listed. Each
listing features a product photograph if available, a product
description, and specifications. Visitors to the Virtual Trade Show can
also upload equipment models to DOTmed Equipment Guides, if they note a
model is missing from a given category, or add information to an
existing listing.
"Virtually every shopping site on the Internet makes it easy for
visitors to compare different makes and models of a given product --
whether it's coffee makers or ultrasound equipment," noted Matt Ulman,
DOTmed's CTO. "The Virtual Trade Show now does that too, so you can see
up to four models side-by-side and compare the specifications from one
to another."
