PENTAX Medical sets a new standard in endoscopic ultrasound with the official launch of the EG-3270UK endoscope during the 30th GEEW congress in Brussels, Belgium. The scope was successfully demonstrated during several live examinations and the customer feedback was very positive. The EG-3270UK combines the feasibility of fine needle aspiration with excellent ultrasound image quality in an extremely comfortable endoscope.

The unique characteristics make the new EUS endoscope easy-to-use for everyday practice and versatile for a wide range of procedures. It delivers the optimal balance of a slim insertion tube with an instrument channel that supports EUS-FNA.

The EG-3270UK meets the high demand for EUS applications in the upper gastrointestinal tract as well as for the staging of lung cancer patients. And the state-of-the-art ultrasound imaging, further enhanced by Elastography and contrast-enhanced EUS, provides numerous options for detailed assessment of organs, lymph nodes and masses. The EG-3270UK also exhibits flexibility and advanced maneuverability, allowing for more comfort for both patient and examiner; while the small distal end facilitates easier intubation of the patient and advancement up to the duodenum, enhancing procedure success.

Dr. Julio Iglesias-Garcia from University Hospital Santiago de Compostela in Spain has evaluated the scope and states: "The ultrasound image quality of the EG-3270UK is amazing and the best one I have ever experienced. The newly developed ultrasound transducer always produces a very homogenous and stable image. In my opinion this new scope is a true innovation and I am looking forward to using the scope during daily clinical routine."

The EG-3270UK is currently not available for sale in the United States.
