John Theurer Cancer Center, LRF to host Ask the Doctor About Lymphoma

The Lymphoma Research Foundation (LRF), the nation's largest non-profit organization devoted to lymphoma research, is partnering with John Theurer Cancer Center, one of the nation's 50 best hospitals for cancer, to bring the lymphoma community information about the rapidly changing world of lymphoma treatment. The educational program, titled Ask the Doctor About Lymphoma, will be held on Tuesday, October 23 at John Theurer Cancer Center in Hackensack, NJ.

"The Lymphoma Research Foundation's Ask the Doctor programs provide opportunities for attendees to hear from leading lymphoma researchers and clinicians, gaining a better understanding of the disease and the treatment options currently available," said Brian Tomlinson, LRF Chief Program Officer. "The Lymphoma Research Foundation looks forward to collaborating with Dr. Andre Goy of John Theurer Cancer Center to bring this important information to the New Jersey lymphoma community."

Ask the Doctor About Lymphoma programs provide the latest information about lymphoma and its treatments to local communities across the United States. The upcoming program in Hackensack, New Jersey will consist of a two-hour topic-specific seminar led by Andre Goy, M.D., M.S., Chairman and Director and Chief of Lymphoma, John Theurer Cancer Center. Dr. Goy is an internationally-recognized researcher who leads one of the largest lymphoma programs the country, and is also a member of the Lymphoma Research Foundation's Scientific Advisory Board. He will present a brief overview of lymphoma and discuss the latest treatment options and research. The presentation will be followed by a two-hour question and answer session.

"An impressive number of new options have emerged in the last few years in lymphoma, translating to better outcome for our patients"," said Dr. Goy. "This seminar is a great opportunity for patients and caregivers to gain a better understanding of lymphoma, a very diverse disease with evolving and changing treatment options, so they can become active participants in their care."

The program is offered free-of-charge to members of the lymphoma community, and dinner will be provided for all registered attendees; however, pre-registration is required.
