Accenture to help develop VET's integrated healthcare facility in Tamil Nadu, India

Accenture (NYSE:ACN) has been awarded a technology consulting contract by Velammal Educational Trust (VET), a Tamil Nadu-based group of 25 educational institutes, to help it establish an integrated healthcare facility in the city of Madurai. The facility will be comprised of a medical college, teaching hospital and corporate hospital.

Accenture will help develop VET's overall strategy and the market positioning for the healthcare facility. Using Accenture Connected Health Services, the effort will also include the development of a technology strategy and implementation of Health Management Information System (HMIS) for the Velammal Medical College Hospital & Research Institute (VMCHRI).

Accenture will also advise VET in the development of human resources processes and talent acquisition strategies to support the organizational structure. As part of this effort, both organizations will help define the roles and responsibilities of the senior leadership for the healthcare facility. Accenture will also work with VET Leadership to develop and define their long term technology roadmap for their healthcare facility.
