SAMHSA awards System of Care Expansion Planning grants up to nearly $4 million

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is awarding System of Care Expansion Planning grants totaling up to nearly $4 million. The purpose of these grants is to develop a comprehensive strategic plan to expand and sustain the system of care approach to providing services for children and youth with serious emotional disturbances and their families.

"Systems of care help coordinate resources and supports in communities to improve all aspects of a young person's health and well-being, which includes their emotional and behavioral health," said SAMHSA Administrator Pamela S. Hyde. "The planning that will occur through these grants will improve services and systems intended to meet the behavioral health needs of families and entire communities."

SAMHSA anticipates that up to 11 one-year grants from $167,630 to $757,276 will be awarded for one year. Actual award amounts may vary, depending on the availability of funds.
