A Warrington-based DNA testing laboratory is offering the UK's first standard next day paternity results service and is on a recruitment drive to cope with the anticipated increase in demand.

From 1 October 2013, Alpha Biolaboratories, the exclusive DNA testing laboratory for ITV 1's Jeremy Kyle Show, is launching the country's first accredited 24 loci next day DNA paternity testing service. This more accurate DNA test with speedier response times has been developed in response to feedback from clients who expressed their preference for a more accurate test with faster analysis time at no extra cost.

Alpha Biolaboratories has analysed over 10,000 DNA samples this year and predicts a rise of over double this number with the introduction of the new service.

Alpha Biolaboratories is an ISO17025 accredited laboratory, and has invested heavily in staff, specialist equipment and software to deliver next day lab results as standard.

As a result, Alpha Biolaboratories have recently recruited new staff and the company is aiming to take on additional highly trained personnel.

David Thomas, Chief Executive of Alpha Biolaboratories, one of the UK's leading ISO17025 accredited providers of drug and DNA testing, said:

"Our next day service is a real turning point in consumer genetics. It offers peace of mind for the thousands of customers who use our confidential service to help solve all kinds of personal issues. We are expecting to receive significant international interest as DNA testing of this quality cannot be found quicker elsewhere".

DNA identification is the most precise and definitive method available to determine parentage. Everyone is born with their own genetic blueprint which is passed down from mother and father to child, DNA identification provides a conclusive way to determine biological relationships.

DNA Paternity tests show a 99.999999% probability that an individual is the biological father of a child. Standard turnaround times for DNA testing in the UK is usually between 3 and 10 working days.
