Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center renews contract for Zix Email Encryption Services

Zix Corporation (ZixCorp), (Nasdaq: ZIXI), a leading provider of email data protection, announces that Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center has renewed its contract for Zix™ Email Encryption Services in a three-year agreement. A leading, fully integrated academic medical center, Wake Forest Baptist began using Zix Services in 2004 and continues to select ZixCorp based on its consistent leadership in email encryption and its dedication to ease of use.

Wake Forest Baptist uses ZixGateway®, a policy-based email encryption service, to secure protected health information in email to business associates and other healthcare organizations in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act. Recipients who use ZixGateway automatically receive encrypted email transparently in their inboxes. More than 980 organizations exchange encrypted email with Wake Forest Baptist securely and transparently, without taking any extra steps or entering passwords. Recipients who do not use Zix Email Encryption Services can send and receive secure email through ZixPort®, a secure Web portal.

As a distinguished research institution, Wake Forest Baptist also uses ZixGateway to protect the privacy of its patient participants and the security of its intellectual property.
