Sound Physicians, a leading hospitalist organization, focused on driving improvements in the quality, satisfaction and financial performance of inpatient healthcare delivery, announced an acquisition of certain assets of Inpatient Specialists.

Twenty-six full time hospitalists from Inpatient Specialists will join Sound Physicians and will continue to provide care at Shady Grove Adventists Hospital in Rockville, MD. Inpatient Specialists' owner Jude Alexander, M.D., will continue in his leadership role and has also joined Sound Physicians as Regional Medical Director for the mid-Atlantic.

"We chose to partner with Sound because they are the only hospitalist group that truly invests in their physicians to build a culture of engagement," said Jude Alexander, M.D, owner of Inpatient Specialists. "With their tools, technology, and expertise, they can take the performance of the existing group to a higher level and help expand our practice to better manage the continuum of care."

"We are fortunate to have Dr. Alexander and his team on board and are looking forward to expanding our services in the Rockville community," said Robert Bessler, M.D., CEO of Sound Physicians. "This is a great opportunity to further strengthen our commitment to providing exceptional patient care in Maryland."

Working with Shady Grove Adventist Hospital, Sound Physicians will introduce its SoundConnect workflow and communication platform to drive improvement in outcomes and foster effective collaboration. Sound Physicians will also apply its expertise in building strong physician leaders, revenue cycle management and physician recruiting.
