Bankers Healthcare Group, Inc., a leading provider of innovative financing solutions for healthcare professionals, is going pink this October for national breast cancer awareness month. As part of the campaign, each of BHG's divisions will participate in a local American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk:

  • Southwest Ranches, Florida on Oct. 11 in Huizenga Park
  • New York City on Oct. 19 in Central Park
  • Syracuse, New York on Oct. 19 in Clinton Square

To start, BHG will donate $1,500 to each individual walk. The goal is to raise $2,000 each, totaling $6,000 to benefit the American Cancer Society.

BHG's president of human resources, Michelle Crawford, was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and understands firsthand the encouragement that comes from community action. "It means so much to see the entire organization come together to join the fight against breast cancer," said Crawford. "To feel the support of so many people, both at home and around the country, is truly uplifting."

To demonstrate their enthusiasm for this worthy cause, BHG employees are wearing pink tee shirts, pins and bracelets today to kickoff the October campaign. Even the company website, blog and social channels have adopted pink icons and banners. The public can participate by following the BHG 360˚ Blog and using #BHGwantsaCURE on Facebook and Twitter.

Taking it a step further, BHG made a $25,000 donation to pediatric cancer research and treatment through the American Cancer Society as part of TODAY's Shine a Light outreach initiative.
