MO BIO Laboratories announces launch of PowerMag Blood DNA/RNA Isolation Kit

NewsGuard 100/100 Score

MO BIO Laboratories, Inc., the leader in soil, stool and microbial nucleic acid purification, announces the launch of the PowerMag® Blood DNA/RNA Isolation Kit. The kit is designed for automated, hands-free purification of nucleic acids from blood samples using the Thermo Scientific KingFisher® automated processing system and other similar automation platforms.

The PowerMag® Blood Kit is the latest in the high quality nucleic acid purification tools developed using key MO BIO technologies:

  • Works with all blood types – Automated isolation of high yields of nucleic acids from fresh and frozen whole blood, buffy coat, plasma and stabilized blood
  • Novel ClearMag® magnetic particle technology – Captures both DNA and RNA without binding common blood-derived PCR inhibitors, facilitating isolation of pure nucleic acids for use in PCR, RT-PCR, microarrays and next generation sequencing
  • Hands-free purification - Optimized for use with the KingFisher® Flex and KingFisher® Duo automated processing systems, with the ability to adapt to other platforms

The PowerMag® Blood DNA/RNA Isolation Kit is an extension of MO BIO's PowerMag® line of DNA and RNA isolation kits, which include products for nucleic acid isolation from soil, microbial and food cultures, water and air filters, seeds and stool. The kit has been validated with fresh blood (including blood stored in PAXgene® Tubes and in the RNAgard® Blood System), and can isolate nucleic acids from buffy coats and plasma as well as frozen blood. This is the first high-throughput, hands-free kit available to co-isolate high yields of both DNA and RNA.

The PowerMag® Blood DNA/RNA Isolation Kit is available now.
