The Kravis Children's Hospital at Mount Sinai ranked again among the country's top children's hospitals in pediatric specialties, according to the newly issued U.S. News & World Report's "Best Children's Hospitals" guidebook for 2015-2016.

The hospital made significant gains this year, ranking in seven of ten specialties tracked, and achieving for the first time top 20 rankings in Pulmonology and Nephrology. The rankings, published annually, recognize the nation's top 50 children's hospitals in ten pediatric specialty areas.

"The new rankings reflect the commitment by every employee at our children's hospital — from the physicians and nurses to the social workers and staff — to providing exceptional care to our pediatric patients and their families," said Kenneth L. Davis, MD, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Mount Sinai Health System. "We are honored to be recognized again in the rankings, and are truly grateful to our dedicated healthcare professionals for making this possible."

"We continue to recruit renowned experts to our medical teams, with their excellence captured in this ranking and seen in the quality care we provide," said Dennis Charney, MD, the Anne and Joel Ehrenkranz Dean, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. "World-class, interdisciplinary pediatric care teams in our hospitals tailor treatment to the needs of the children and adolescents they see every day."

The Kravis Children's Hospital, which manages more than 70,000 outpatient visits and 3,000 inpatient stays each year, ranked in the following specialties:
- Pulmonology: No. 18, up from No. 30
- Nephrology: No. 19, up from No. 29
- Gastroenterology & GI Surgery: No. 25, up from No. 40
- Neurology & Neurosurgery: No. 25, up from No. 29
- Urology: No. 34, up from No. 50
- Diabetes & Endocrinology: No. 36
- Cancer: No. 50

"Our clinical teams provide the highest quality of care to children of all ages," said David L. Reich, MD, President of The Mount Sinai Hospital. "We strive to make each patient and each parent as comfortable as possible as they undergo treatment."

"Our goal is simply to ensure that each child receives the best care available," says Lisa Satlin, MD, System Chair of Pediatrics. "Our compassionate staff provides superior, family-centered care and guidance to all of our young patients."
