Case Reports in Pancreatic Cancer, a new peer-reviewed, open access journal from Mary Ann Liebert, Inc., publishers, will deliver authoritative case reports on all aspects of pancreatic cancer diagnosis, management, treatment, and outcomes. Launching in fall 2015, the Journal will be the premier open source for clinical reports on the disease, and will publish under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY) license to ensure broad dissemination and participation.

Pancreatic cancer rates have risen steadily for several years, and the disease results in more than 300,000 deaths globally each year. It is the fourth most common cause of cancer deaths in the U.S., and has a five-year survival rate of less than 25%. There are large disparities in pancreatic cancer diagnosis and survival rates, with a disease risk of over 50% greater for African Americans.

"Case Reports in Pancreatic Cancer enables surgeons, oncologists, and the team of professionals that determine and administer care to share their experiences and foster communication and collaboration to optimize patient care," said Mary Ann Liebert, founder, President, and CEO of the company that bears her name. "These case studies are an imperative for translational research that will move forward more options for treatment and cure."
