DaVita HealthCare Partners (NYSE: DVA), a leading independent medical group in America and leading provider of kidney care services, today announced that HealthCare Partners Medical Group has received the Integrated Healthcare Association's (IHA) Medicare Advantage 4.5 Star Award. Based on performance measurement year 2014, IHA's Medicare Star Award is given to physician groups and health systems in California for high levels of Medicare Advantage quality achievement.

"This independent assessment of HealthCare Partners' star performance underscores our deep commitment to providing quality care, while lowering costs and improving outcomes," said Pratibha Patel, M.D., president of HealthCare Partners California. "We're proud to have been recognized by the Independent Healthcare Association again this year, and look forward to improving healthcare delivery across the state of California in the years to come."

To earn this recognition, IHA evaluated HealthCare Partners' performance on individual Medicare Stars measures against national benchmarks provided by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) which were then combined into a weighted overall Stars rating across a set of 14 Part C (Medicare Advantage) and Part D (Prescription Drug Plan) clinical measures.
