Maxim Health Systems cancels all flu shot clinics at retail locations

24. October 2009 05:14

Maxim Health Systems has cancelled all flu shot clinics at retail locations after October 22, due to lack of vaccine availability. Across the country, there has been a drastic increase in both demand and media attention regarding influenza and vaccine availability. While the nation is experiencing an increase in demand for flu vaccine, manufacturers are unable to produce more seasonal flu vaccine because all resources have been shifted to H1N1 production. These variables have caused unprecedented challenges for this year's flu season. Therefore, all Maxim retail clinic locations have been cancelled.

"We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused our customers and clients." said Steve Pellito, National Director of Wellness for Maxim Health Systems. "This season has proven to be one of the most unique and unpredictable seasons of all time."

Maxim's Web site, www.findaflushot.com, has been updated to reflect these cancellations. Maxim urges consumers to direct seasonal flu, H1N1 (Swine Flu), and vaccine questions to their primary care physician, and to contact local and state health authorities for information on vaccines for high-risk individuals.
