With America focused on the future of healthcare, a recent survey provides Americans added confidence in the ability of supplements like MegaRed® Omega-3 Krill Oil to support their overall cardiovascular health.

According to a new national survey commissioned by Schiff Nutrition and conducted by an independent research firm, an overwhelming majority of cardiologists (91%) have recommended dietary supplements to their patients to support cardiovascular health. In fact, three-quarters (75%) of cardiologists say that if they had to choose one dietary supplement to specifically support cardiovascular health, they would choose omega-3 fatty acids, far more so than antioxidants (7%), CoQ-10 (2%), and Vitamin E (1%)

The survey also showed that after learning about MegaRed® Omega-3 Krill Oil, a strong majority (86%) of cardiologists believe that MegaRed® would effectively support the overall cardiovascular health of their patients.

"Heart health has become a growing concern with both men and women today," said Dr. Suzanne Steinbaum, attending cardiologist and the Director of Women and Heart Disease of the Heart and Vascular Institute of Lenox Hill Hospital in New York. "It's more important than ever for all men and women to take responsibility for their cardiovascular health and to be knowledgeable about the cardiovascular health benefits of supplements such as krill oil, which has advantages over fish oil.  Krill oil products, like MegaRed®, have become a popular choice for consumers who want Omega-3 fatty acids but do not want to hassle with the large pills and unpleasant aftertaste associated with traditional fish oil supplements."
