Pfizer awards 2011 fellowship to UH Case Medical Center for pain medicine and epilepsy

University Hospitals (UH) Case Medical Center's Division of Pain Medicine in the Department of Anesthesiology and the Epilepsy Center in the UH Neurological Institute have each received 2011 Medical & Academic Partnerships Fellowship Awards from Pfizer Inc. Institutions for these nationally competitive awards are reviewed and selected by an independent academic selection committee comprised of leaders in the field. The fellowships provide support for clinicians in patient-oriented research that is vital to improving healthcare.

The pain medicine fellowship will support a fellowship for a physician in the Division of Pain Medicine which is directed by Salim Hayek, M.D., Ph.D., working with the Department of Urology. The Epilepsy Center is directed by Hans L-ders, M.D., Ph.D.
