Applied BioCode, Inc. today announced that the United Stated
Patent and Trademark Office has granted US Patent #8,232,092 (July 31,
2012) "Light Transmitted Assay Beads," describing the method of decoding
barcodes and analyzing bioassays using Barcoded Magnetic Beads (BMB)
multiplex products.
"The new patent expands our 3 earlier patents for polymer-based
Barcoded Magnetic Beads by including the analytical multiplex system
that is responsible for high accuracy and high sensitivity bioassays,"
said Winston Ho, PhD, President of Applied BioCode. "These patents
solidify our intellectual property portfolio by further protecting our
encoded polymer bead technology and providing our products with long
term market value."
Applied BioCode's new 12-digit Barcoded Magnetic Beads have 4,096
separate barcodes, enabling the simultaneous analysis of up to 4,096 DNA
or protein targets in a single sample. Barcoded Magnetic
Beads not only offer an all-in-one panel assay, but also for a higher
level of automation and lower cost. The BioCode analyzers provide
clinical and life science research laboratories with a wide variety of
bioassay applications including personal medicine, oncology, infectious
diseases, genetic assays and biomarker validation.
