Tandem Diabetes Care®, Inc. ("Tandem") announced today that it has started shipping the t:slim® Insulin Pump to customers.  The t:slim Insulin Pump is the only insulin pump with a touch screen approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. It has the footprint of a credit card, the look of a smart phone, and is up to 25 percent slimmer than other 300-unit pumps. Unlike other insulin pumps that have complex menus and require excessive button pressing, the t:slim Pump's vivid color touch screen is the window to an easy-to-use interface that places everything at the touch of a finger.

"We have been looking forward to this day since the Company was formed, and from the feedback we have received thus far, the diabetes community is equally excited," said Kim Blickenstaff, President and CEO, Tandem Diabetes Care.

"Our immediate objective is to help each customer obtain a t:slim Pump as quickly as possible," continued Blickenstaff. "We have a dedicated insurance verification team ready to help each patient through the process on a case-by case basis. Our goal is to help secure in-network coverage for the t:slim Pump, whether that is directly through Tandem, or through our expanding network of medical equipment distributors."
