Chesapeake Urology Associates, PA, the premier urology practice in Maryland and the Mid-Atlantic region, introduces Chesapeake Urology for Kids, a comprehensive program to treat urologic conditions in children from pre-natal to 18 years of age. This new division is being led by Robert Mevorach, MD, a fellowship trained pediatric urologist.  An office exclusively for pediatric patients is now open at 25 Crossroads Drive in Owings Mills, Maryland.

Chesapeake Urology for Kids utilizes a team approach with a staff specialized in pediatric care.  The entire pediatric team is highly trained in pediatric urology and believes in creating an environment of trust and compassionate care.  This is the hallmark of the program's patient care philosophy and part of Chesapeake Urology's mission to ensure every patient has a superior experience.

Dr. Robert Mevorach is certified by the American Board of Urology for Urology and Pediatric Urology, a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a Fellow of the Society for Pediatric Urology.  He previously served as a pediatric urologist and an associate professor of urology and pediatrics at the University of Rochester Medical Center in Rochester, New York.

"I am trained in the specialty of urology with a sub-specialty in the care of kids with urological problems.  I try to care for each child as I would care for my own.  Providing superior care is possible with honest and open communication with children and their parents. Kids are incredibly strong and I have witnessed even the youngest of patients can rise to extraordinary challenges if given compassionate care.  I am excited to join the Chesapeake Urology team and look forward to serving the urologic needs of children in the Baltimore area," states Dr. Robert Mevorach.

Chesapeake Urology for Kids also offers surgery facilities for pediatric patients at Chesapeake Urology's ambulatory surgery center located in the Woodholme Medical Center in Pikesville.  The center provides the most advanced surgical environment and technology coupled with pediatric anesthesiologists and nurses to create an atmosphere designed for children.  Bed sheets for coloring, kid-friendly gowns and slippers, and scented surgical masks make the child's experience as comfortable as possible.

"For some time, we have realized that pediatric urology was underserved in the Baltimore region.  Bringing Dr. Robert Mevorach to the Chesapeake Urology team of physicians allows us to expand our pediatric services and brings a new breadth of pediatric urology experience to Chesapeake Urology.  Dr. Mevorach will broaden our scope of pediatric services currently offered by many of our other physicians.  We are excited to offer the continuum of care for the entire family," states Dr. Sanford J. Siegel, CEO of Chesapeake Urology.
