HUYA Bioscience International has been named the winner of a bronze Stevie® Award in the Health Products & Services and Pharmaceuticals category in the second annual Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards.

The Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards are the only business awards program to recognize achievement in the workplace in all 22 nations of the Asia-Pacific region. The Stevie Awards are widely considered to be the world's premier business awards, conferring recognition for achievement in programs such as The International Business Awards for more than a decade. Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word for "crowned," the awards will be presented to winners at a gala banquet at the InterContinental Hotel in Shanghai, China on 5 June.

More than 400 nominations from organizations across the Asia-Pacific region were considered this year in categories such as Company of the Year, Executive of the Year, and Website of the Year.

"Warmest congratulations to everyone at HUYA on this great achievement, which endorses our business model of enabling and accelerating global development of novel biopharmaceutical product opportunities originating in China," said Mireille Gillings, Ph.D., CEO of HUYA. "We are at an exciting stage in our company's evolution, with our novel anticancer therapy, HBI-8000, now in clinical trials in Japan. This follows the recent approval of the drug by the Chinese FDA; in China, the drug is marketed as Epidaza®."

"We look forward to celebrating this year's excellent group of Stevie Award winners in Shanghai on 5 June," said Michael Gallagher, president and founder of the Stevie Awards. "We extend our warmest congratulations to all of this year's Gold, Silver and Bronze Stevie Award winners."
