The American College of Radiology (ACR) is partnering with GE Healthcare and King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center to bring the first-ever ACR-led imaging boot camp training for breast radiologists to the Middle East. The three-day Breast Imaging Boot Camp to be held May 23-25 in Jeddah will provide up to 40 practicing radiologists in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East with intensive hands-on experience in mammography and breast ultrasonography.

"Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in the Middle East; it may occur earlier and it is often found at later stages than in other regions of the world. The ACR Education Center is proud to offer this unparalleled, hands-on workstation with case-based training to help radiologists in the region sharpen their breast imaging skills and therefore catch more cancers early and save more lives," said Pablo R. Ros, MD, MPH, PhD, FACR, physician-in-chief of the ACR Education Center,

Attendees will interpret more than 240 digital screening and diagnostic mammograms and other medical images. Interventional workshops will also be available in breast ultrasound and stereotactic biopsy. Participants will be guided toward developing their perceptive skills with direct assistance from a panel of expert radiologists.

This will be the first in an ongoing series of boot camps and fellowships for radiologists across the region. Each boot camp is run by ACR's experts and operates under the ACR Education Center. After successfully completing a workshop, participants will receive an ACR certificate of completion.
