Meridian Neuroscience is anchored by physicians at the region's leading academic medical center, Jersey Shore University Medical Center, and leading community hospitals for comprehensive stroke care, including Bayshore Community Hospital, Riverview Medical Center, Ocean Medical Center, Southern Ocean Medical Center, Raritan Bay Medical Center Perth Amboy and Raritan Bay Medical Center Old Bridge. The Meridian Neuroscience program diagnoses and treats a range of conditions from stroke to epilepsy, brain tumors to spine injuries and movement and memory disorders.

"Every year, nearly 800,000 people in the United States have a stroke," says Stephen Martino, M.D., stroke medical director for Meridian Neuroscience. "It is the fifth leading cause of death and the leading cause of long-term disability. Knowing the signs and symptoms, and getting effective treatment delivered within the first three hours, is imperative to limiting the damaging effects of stroke."
