This holiday season, Ocean Nutrition Canada (ONC) is giving a gift with vision. ONC, the largest supplier of Omega-3 EPA/DHA ingredients in the world, is helping to reduce blindness and mortality amongst children in the developing world by donating five million doses of vitamin A to Vitamin Angels.

ONC has a longstanding relationship with Vitamin Angels, a charitable organization based in the United States, that provides vitamins to children in the developing world.  "Ocean Nutrition is known for helping people become healthier," says Martin Jamieson, President and CEO of Ocean Nutrition Canada. "However, we don't just think about people who can afford to pick and choose what they eat. By working with Vitamin Angels, we are able to help children get access to essential nutrients for basic growth and development."

"Each year, 350,000 children in the developing world are afflicted with blindness as a result of vitamin A deficiency," says Howard Schiffer, President and Founder of Vitamin Angels. "Just two doses of vitamin A per year can significantly reduce a child's risk of going blind and reduce mortality rates in at-risk populations by 24%. We're extremely grateful to companies like ONC for making our work possible."

"We're very proud of our work with Vitamin Angels," says Jamieson. "As leaders in the Omega-3 industry, we take health and nutrition very seriously. We're pleased to be able to support the valuable work that Vitamin Angels is doing, on behalf of our employees, families and customers."
