Committed to developing technology to make vascular
procedures faster, easier and safer, Toshiba America Medical Systems,
Inc. introduces new software for its InfinixTM-i vascular
X-ray systems, enabling high-speed 3D reconstruction and low-contrast
imaging. Toshiba will showcase the Infinix-i vascular X-ray product line
at the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) annual meeting, March
24-29, 2012 in San Francisco (Booth #1328).
The fast 3D image reconstruction speed is a valuable capability for
interventionalists performing critical procedures, especially in the
event of a complication. For example, if a bleed occurs during cerebral
intervention, the fast 3D reconstruction enables clinicians to document
the complication and display the anatomy to determine the next steps for
treatment faster than before. When time is of the essence, the ability
to quickly and accurately make a decision with greater confidence is
critical.
Toshiba's Infinix-i further enables high efficiency and productivity
with hovercraft-like movement, resulting in unrestricted patient access
from head to toe and fingertip to fingertip to facilitate advanced,
complex procedures with ease.
"This new software is another example of Toshiba's ability to place
interventional radiologists at the forefront of patient safety with the
tools needed to accurately and quickly diagnose patients," said Stephen
Bumb, director, X-ray Vascular Business Unit, Toshiba. "Additionally,
patient safety is enhanced with expanded fluoroscopy features that lower
overall radiation dose."
