In addition, Rio has been named host city of the 2016 Olympic Games, as well as the 2014 World Cup, and Hospitalys aims to make sports medicine a focus of its efforts.
HSS orthopedists and sports medicine specialists served on the U.S. Olympic Committee medical staff team that covered the London Games in 2012, the Beijing Games in 2008 and the Athens Games in 2004. They look forward to similar roles in the 2016 Games. Currently, physicians from Hospital for Special Surgery are official physicians for major professional sports teams including the Super Bowl XLII Champion New York Football Giants, New York Mets, New York Knicks, New York Liberty Basketball and New York Red Bulls Soccer.

•Minimally Invasive Surgery for Adult Deformities--Federico Girardi, M.D.
The symposium will take place at the Hotel Windsor Atlantica in Rio de Janeiro.
