Bisphosphonate treatments, proven to enhance bone density and reduce fracture incidence in post-menopausal women, may adversely affect bone quality and increase risk of atypical fractures of the femur when used for four or more years, according to preliminary research presented today at the 2010 Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

The center was a $31 million investment by the non-profit group and it is expected to do well. "While many New Jersey hospitals grapple with barely-there operating margins and a national slowdown in construction, Virtua is growing.

Natus Medical reports increased revenue for 2009 fourth quarter

For the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2009, Natus reported revenue of $51.6 million, compared to $43.4 million reported in the comparable quarter of the previous year. Net income was $4.3 million, or $0.15 per diluted share, for the fourth quarter of 2009, compared with net income of $6.3 million, or $0.22 per diluted share, for the fourth quarter of 2008.
